1989-1992
"Urartu" basketball club was founded in 1989, in which many Europe,World and Olympic champions appeared, such as A. Zhurmuhamedov, V. Zhigili, A. Lendel, V. Pankrashkin, T. Gyokchyan.

The sportsmen, performing in the club, then were invited to be a part of other basketball clubs in diaspora.

In 1990 the club participated in an international championship in Canada.

In 1992 took part in Korocha cup tournament and USSR A-division league.
2016-2017
in 2017 the club participated in lots of competitions in Canada, Iran, Croatia, Bulgaria, Georgia and took many awards.

The team joined newly-created Armenian basketball A-league, becoming one of the seven clubs, that played in the first season.

The first president of the club was Ara Pogosyan, who served from 2016 to 2017, then Karen Giloyan followed him.

Right after that, Tigran Gyokchyan headed the team until the end of 2017.
2018-2019
In 2019 Urartu- Vivaro from Yerevan won the EEU basketball cup.
In the final of Armenian Cup tournament the club beat Artsakh and became the cup owner, which was desired also by Artsakh, Aragats and Erebuni Cedars.

The team will represent Eurasian league basketball in October of 2019.

In 2019/20 season the club was renamed from Urartu Vivaro into Urartu Vbet.
